There are some terms that are closely connected with puppetry. One of them is the term "Pakeliran" commonly used in leather puppet. Here is an explanation of the term philosophy.

'Pakeliran' is a term derived from the word 'color', which means white linen fitted as background leather puppet. This is denoted as the universe as it is said "kelire jadag karaya" (kelirnya universe) (Djajadiguna in surwana, 2009). Color is a universe away from the reach of human senses.

So pakeliran indirectly lead to the leather puppet only, ie puppet who uses color in the play. In philosophy, which is often carried pakeliran all night (all night) has the meaning as depictions of human life, from birth, adulthood, until he died. These stages are reflected in each of the scenes in the play puppet. Like the scene revocation Kayon which symbolizes life. When Kayon revoked then began life in the world. When starting pakeliran, Kayon raised and brought to light oil (blencong) in order to spread its shadow color throughout, this illustrates that when it starts there is the birth of man in the world, then the light is spread throughout the world.

So a puppet pakeliran along with anything that is therein such, the orchestra / accompaniment, their devices and their puppet and puppeteer itself, is a reflection of a life full of complexity. Each object involved in this has a special meaning and a certain role in giving meaning a puppet pakeliran.
